This book is the result of the Centre for Arab Progress’s conference on Islam and Muslims in Britain that took place in September 2019 at the University of London. A good number of academics and researchers in the affairs of Islam and Muslim communities in Britain participated in this conference, and they presented specialized academic papers and presentations. A number of these papers chosen for publication in a separate book issued by the Centre to be a start to specialized publications on Muslim communities in the United Kingdom, and to address issues related to them through objective views introduced by researchers and academics who contribute to the development of knowledge in this field. The papers came to cover essential aspects related to issues of extremism and combating it, and its relationship to the marginalization of Muslim communities. It also academically studies the reasons that place the Muslims in the UK within a stereotypical framework contrary to human rights traditions. The book attempts to provide an objective academic evaluation of specific concerns faced by Muslim communities.
