Kristallnacht to Dachau, Diary of Ernst Geiduschek Translated by his daughter June In memory of the sacrifice of November 10th 1938 During Kristallnacht on November 10th 1938 the Gestapo arrested, mistreated and transported Ernst Geiduschek together with 11,000 other Viennese Jews to Dachau concentration camp near Munich in Germany. His family managed to buy emigration papers for him to England while he struggled to survive the horrors of the camp. This diary of Ernst Geiduschek covers the time from his first arrest to his liberation. It was written in December 1940 in Canada, where he was interned at the start of war. He wrote: ''Where is the golden Viennese heart?'' I asked myself again and again. ''Is this the city of song and gaiety?'' On April 29th 2015 it was 70 years ago that the prisoners at Dachau concentrationcamp were liberated. The revenues of this book are donated to ShelterBox.
