Marcelo F. Aebi, PhD, is Full Professor of Criminology at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. He is Executive Secretary of the European Society of Criminology and, as a consultant expert for the Council of Europe, he is responsible of the Council Annual Penal Statistics (SPACE). He leads the European Sourcebook of Crime and Criminal Justice Statistics Group and has published extensively on comparative criminology, crime trends, prison and probation studies, crime measurement and juvenile delinquency. Lorena Molnar, PhD, is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Lausanne specializing in comparative criminology and victimology, focusing on vulnerable populations such as sex workers, people experiencing homelessness, ethnic minorities, children and people with disabilities. She has also worked as a social worker and as a scientific fellow at the Applied University of Sciences and Arts Western Switzerland.
